Bing have announced that they’re working with Facebook to integrate social networking into their search algorithm.

Facebook brings a wealth of social link graphs to the search algorithm, using ratings from your social network to enhance Bing’s results.

It’ll be interesting to see how Google reacts to this – maybe by bringing their rumoured Google Me social network forward

Wow!  Microsoft research are churning out some cool ideas at the moment!   I really hope they turn some of these concepts into real products based around Courier sometime soon!

Check out the video below to see how they’re using both pen input and touch input to work together on a surface display.    Some of the ideas look so natural!

Next week, Scotia Systems will be heading to Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona.   If you’ve never been to MWC, it’s quite something to see!  

Held 15th - 18th Feb, MWC is an exhibition with over 1300 businesses from the mobile industry!   The scale of the exhibition is huge and has to be seen to be believed!   Last year the show attracted approximately 47,000 visitors!

This year looks to have major announcements from Microsoft regarding their next version of Windows Mobile.    I see this is the last chance Microsoft has to get back into smartphone race, so they need to announce something really spectacular.

I’ll be posting new blog articles here and you can also follow Scotia Systems on twitter for regular updates during the show.

Another update on the problem with Internet Explorer missing keystrokes.    Doing some more research I found another reference to the problem – specific to Sony VAIO laptops.   As suspected in the earlier post – the problem is down to the fingerprint reader software.
