Wow – XKCDs comic strip was only published earlier today (see our earlier post), but the word Shibboleet has already become a Google trending topic:

What does it mean?

So just what does the word mean?   Well it’s a clever combination of two words, Shibboleth and Leet.

Leet is a common term used by hackers as a code for “elite” (l33t).

The word Shibboleth is a Hebrew word which comes from the Bible.   Due to the difficult pronunciation of the word, it became a code word for the Israelites who could spot a foreigner due to their mispronunciation

Put the two words together and you can see how Shibboleet can be used to spot a techie!

Angry Birds Implement In-Game Payment To Complete Difficult Levels With New Mighty Eagle

September 14th, 2010 admin

Game developer Rovio have just announced that they’re introducing in-game payment support for their popular game “Angry Birds”.

The new “Mighty Eagle” is a new bird which can decimate a level, leaving nothing remaining, however to use him, you need to purchase via a one time payment from within the game.

However there are catches…

To use him again, you need to go back to the level and complete it yourself.

You can see details here which were announced at the Nokia World 2010 event:
