January 26th, 2010 adminHere’s an useful little tip! If you need to find the Service Tag on a Dell, you can get at it using the following command in DOS :
wmic csproduct get vendor,name,identifyingnumber
In fact this command is useful on any PC as it also returns the system identifier, make and model of the PC.
Here’s further information and instructions for other operating systems:

January 25th, 2010 adminMicrosoft have released an SEO toolkit, designed to be integrated into the IIS7 manager.
The tool scans through a website running on IIS and produces site analysis reports giving extensive stats on such things as links, violations, content problems and performance issues.
It also has integrated Robots.txt generation and testing.
You can download the SEO toolkit for free from :

January 24th, 2010 adminJust a quick post to recommend www.whatusersdo.com. They’re a UK company providing website usability testing from £25. Basically – you submit the site you want tested and then within 48 hours they upload a screen video with commentry of an impartial user talking about your site.
They currently have a free sample session available for new customers (look for a link on their home page).
I’ve just tried it with Scotia Systems, and it has already provided some valuable insight into how someone unfamiliar with Scotia Systems would interpret the site. I have to say they were pretty much spot on their analysis of who we are and what we do.
Go get your free session today!
